This is the first book that I have read by Sarah Stevens and I was truly impressed!!! Sarah definitely has a unique way of writing!!!I love how in most chapters that she first tells the story in Kat's view and then will add James's view. Sarah does an amazing job of describing what is happening and making you feel like you are there, witnessing things as they happen. Kat and Bren are the best of friends. At the start of the book, they are both 17 and seniors in high school. They do things that typical 17 year olds would do -- tell Mom you are going to the library, but go to a teenage gathering instead. They think nothing of doing this until things go a little wrong at a party. I don't write spoilers, so you are just going to have to read this to find out what happens and the results of it as they continue through the story. There are times where you are going to need a tissue -- and times to where you are going to laugh like crazy -- and times where you are going to ....no, I just can't tell you!!!!

The Night He Saved Me is a debut novel by this author and all and all it was a pretty good story. The author did an amazing job writing this story. It was strong and the character development and relationship and very well developed. The blurb to this novel was so inviting and I have to say Kat and James’s were so full of surprises, secrets and suspense. The alternate POV’s truly helped me to get a better reading on the characters. I want to warn potential readers, although the author does not make note of possible triggers in reading this novel, there are events that take place that some might find disturbing.
The Night He Saved Me was a bit dark and gritty. Kat’s character at first comes off as naive, but she is young and she makes rash decisions that was upsetting. She is somewhat sheltered by her mom and one night her rash decision become life alternating. Throughout the novel this author shows us Kat’s growth. Knowing that she alone can change her future she begins to make changes in her life. The girl was confusing as heck, let me tell you! When fate leads James into her life, she realizes that she is no longer alone.
James, I have no complaint about his character. He was mature, dependent and selfless when it came to Kat’s wellbeing and her love. When he first sees Kat he knows instantly that she belongs to him. There is an intense feeling that while reading from him that leapt from the pages. Whether it was how the author describes a certain scene or when his eyes constantly land on Kat it was just so swoon worthy. James knows that Kat is younger than he is and instead of rushing things he is cautious around Kat. When fate leads him to Kat on the night she needs him the most, he is no longer willing to stay on the sidelines.
I really enjoyed how the author slowly built up the relationship between them. It made it easier to believe in these characters. Kat goes through a lot in this book and her age plays a role on her lack of judgment but James is there to help guide her. I loved that James never gave up on Kat.. The story did not go in the direction I thought it was and I think the added secrets and suspense added to luster and appeal. The Night He Saved Me was a fairly quick read and enjoyable, it was a bit different.
**4 Tear Shedding Stars**
I’ll be honest readers, I cry a lot at books, but I found myself truly welling up a lot at this book. It was truly emotionally charging, but I’ve always loved a good cry. Not only did I cry though, I was hooked from chapter 1!
Katarina is a sweet young woman, who makes some dicey decisions, one in particular altering her life. James is an incredibly intense man, immediately recognizing Katarina for who she is and what she is. The love James shows is mesmerizing and breathtaking, and as I said before….intense.
One of my favorite things to critique authors on, is character development. I want to see where they started and where the went and how they grew as the story progressed. I would have loved to see a bit more about Katarina and James, but the growth between the two was amazing. I loved this story very much and I would def recommend to friends! Just a warning though, this book does have some triggers!

I had great hopes for this book. Before it was released, I had stumbled upon it and was excited to read it. But.... honestly, disappointed. It read like a 13 year old wrote it. I feel horrible saying that - but if I'm honest, it wasn't well written. It was cheesy and I couldn't follow the characters. The stirring fir James and kat seemed like they were 1 person. There was no distinction between them and I found myself backing up to see whose pov I was reading. Then was also inconsistent of a character. I wanted to love this - sadly I didn't.

This was the first book by Sarah Stevens and I already can't wait for the next one! James and Kat's story kept me wanting more. I love when I get to read a story from different points of views and although we were reading many of the same scenarios you get a different perspective.
This book is literally the worse purchase of my life. I bought this book in good faith believing the reviews. Well, I’ll tell you something, those are fake reviews because this book is trash. The prologue to the book says it all, “I have broken my promise to myself.” I don’t know if the author edited this book herself but if she hired an editor, she should probably get her money back. This literature is literally a piece of trash. I would have rather contracted Ebola than read this book again. Would I recommend this book? I couldn’t even recommend this book to my dog; and he can’t even read.
